LOVING YOU
by Lauren Ruth Ward
It dangerous loving you. It’s hard to be afraid, your hands are a parade I wanna run through. It’s dangerous existing next to you. Beat beat, heart attack, makes the cherubs laugh, I need to dance for you. Write it all down in letters I’ll never send to you. The proof is in the medicine, let me sing for you You gift me your expensive hips I can’t recall a damn thing that ever happened before it. I’m not thirsting for answers I was born your slave. A syringe of your glances. In the name of lust I pray. I want more. I want more. I want more. I want more. Give me more, yeah. I want more.

I FEEL SORRY FOR YOU
I’ll walk away, knowing that I gave it all the truth. Even if it never felt true to you, knowing now you live so confused. I feel sorry for you. I’ll stay awake thinking about all the things I meant. Watching you squirm to make our love make sense. Thinking I thought I was helping with my two sense. Losing you wasn’t my intent, I really thought I was helping in my defense. I’ll remember, you told me you loved me on the second date. Sad in your eyes, your mouth sedate. So I asked you to take some time while I'd wait. But you couldn’t give your heartbreak, a break. And I’m a dummy for telling my sister it was fate. Ain’t it funny how a heartbreak can make another heartbreak. I’ll walk away, knowing that I gave it all the truth.
Even if it never felt true for you. Knowing now you live so confused. I feel sorry for you.

FEELINGS
Feelings, you're supposed to feel them. It’s not ideal when you try to conceal them. I’ve been riding in your theme park of touch, riding in, now it’s closed for the season. I’ve been bouncin’ round in you basket ride, I need a steady heart, show me a sign. You gotta keep it real, Your fucking hard to please, babe. Trying to make me feel like I could never leave you. You putting rings on my giving hands and then you turnaround and love another woman. Eh?Transparency means you respect you and me. No she can’t steal a womxn fixing to leave me. Take a dive into your water sign, put out those pants on fire from telling lies. I ain’t playing to win the lottery, I need a curious warrior, who can’t get enough of me. Dear “People Pleaser”, you words are merely teasers.
If you wanna help then spell it out.
If you wanna help then spell it out.
You’re just confusing. It's not polite. It’s not amusing. Goodbye paramour.
Love always forevermore. Yours truly, Straight-shooter (not to be confused with mindreader.)

Of course, I know that you want to know what I think of these new songs.
I love Lauren's new 'acoustic' songs because when she's singing, just playing her guitar, her emotions and rare feelings are coming out more.
Don't get me wrong, all of her songs have a story and the emotions are real but it comes for me more out in acoustic.
These songs remind me a little bit of her first EP that came out 2016.
Her self-named EP from 2016 was already strong in the acoustic way but these 3 new songs are a grown up version from her first EP and definitley more personal.
It's a strong position to write these rare emotions on a paper and to release it into a song.
If you have in your mind to ask me which song from the new ones is my favorite, I choose
'I FEEL SORRY FOR YOU'.
I don't know if it's because I'm familiar with this feeling when I read the lyrics or because the melody is in my head right now.
I was able to hear 'LOVING YOU' live in Cologne 2023. It touched not only my soul, it touched my heart because this song explain so good how deep you can love someone and I have to mention that when I love a person, I really do.
'FEELINGS', I guess I don't have to write about it because the lyrics speaks for themself but it hurts to read that.
In the end all her songs are my favorite and it's hard to choose just one song.
Lauren released wonderful songs, even when they're not really new. ;-)
I hope for the future that we have the chance maybe, for more acoustic songs.
Beside that a new track came out today, 'Self Love' Remix and on YouTube a mini doc is online and you can see it here.
I wish you all a happy self love and women's day, evening or night.
Lots of love,
Lara
